I originally wanted to make her hair white, but dark hair just looked better. Tried to give the picture an earthy fell to counteract the magic in the background and her hands. Also, deep skin was definitely the best choice.

Oh my, I'm horribly, horribly sorry that I did not comment on this earlier. I saw it back there in April and really wanted to write something, but... uh. I probably lost my memory or something. Silly me. I hope you don't mind if I comment it now. 
It's probably not that important, since you've improved since April, but still... I really like your colour choices here and yes, deep skin is definitely the best. The magic also looks pretty impressive.
